About Tanglewood

We are a family business operating out of Salt Lake City, Utah. Our designer and creator, Kevin Herd, has been in the building and carpentry business for the past 27 years. He has done a great deal of work with kitchen cabinets and home building, but has always loved building things for children. He is well versed in the ways of carpentry and can build just about anything.

Tanglewood Design has had a presence on the web since June of 1998, our www.playhousedesigns.com and www.tanglewood-design.com sites became operational in March of 1999.

We love thinking up new things to design and build that will bring families together and provide wonderful memories. It is our goal and mission to give you excellent service and a product that really will capture your child’s imagination.

We are very pleased to offer our products to you and hope you will stop by again to see our new designs.

We're very proud of our Art Department. Our artists and painters enjoy their work, and it shows. We enjoy reproducing our "standard" designs but look forward to the challenge of custom or customized projects.

Our ART DIRECTOR is NEIL GALLOWAY & you might enjoy reading about his background:

Neil’s artistic talent was recognized and utilized at an early age when asked to draw various teaching aids and bulletin boards in kindergarten. He did this while the other kids took naps.

Worked as an animation layout artist under contract with Marvel Comics and he worked on “Spiderman and his Amazing Friends” for Saturday morning cartoons on NBC. Other cartoons included “The incredible Hulk, Thundar the Barbarian, Gem, Scoobie-Doo and Dungeon’s and Dragons”. Throughout Neil’s career he has maintained an interest in fine art and is now able to enjoy this endeavor at Tanglewood Design. Roses, vines, trees, deer, portraits and cartoons are among his specialties and custom artwork is always an enjoyable challenge. He would love to create something special for you and your family.
